From what I have read about this production I think that it is going to be very serious story of the story of a transgender woman’s journey. I think that it will give a lot of insight to the obstacles and struggles that people who are struggling with their gender identity have to go through. I also think that it will give a lot of insight about what it is like to be a gay man in the Bible Belt because that is where Doug is from. For me I think that it is going to be very interesting especially because I know a lot about what happened to Jewish people during World War two, but I don’t know as much about what happened to transgender people. I am interested to see to what extent they add comedy to the show because it is a serious topic but in the article it said that there would be elements of comedy added throughout the show. The article also talked about how Charlotte’s father was abusive so this play is probably going to go into depth about this issue, which is also prevalent today. The article seems to jump around to many different places and times so I am interested to see how they use the lighting to portray different times. Along with this it will be interesting to see how they use the set and their stage in different ways. They might take a minimalistic approach for this production or they might use a lot of set pieces.

Collaborative Reflection (halfway point) Strengths/Weaknesses

One of the strengths of our project right now is that it has a very well developed plot. We have decided what is going to happen when, and in what order these things will take place. This has been true of our project from the beginning, and while our project isn’t very complex with our sequence of events, what happens in each scene, and the emotions of the characters are the more complex aspects of our project. Another one of our group’s strengths is our interaction with each other on stage as characters. We have definitely been working on the dialogue between characters to make it more like what people would say to each other during a conversation. Exercises For the Collaborative

During Monday's session we all took notecards and wrote down a word that reminded us of the Laramie project. On  the other side of the notecard we wrote a quote that someone from the laramie project said, or would be likely to say. Then we got into groups based on which note card spoke to us. From there we made i begin i end scenes that incorporated the word on the notecard. I formed a group with Caroline and we created a scene based on the word frustration. During the scene Caroline showed me something and I just acted like I didn't care about it, this made her frustrated so she started banging on the ground. Next we added another word from a note card and the line that was on the back of that card. Our new word was disappointed and instead of just being apathetic with what Caroline had brought I was now severely disappointed.
